NEWS BRIEF

Proderma increases skin cancer prevention education efforts

From Staff Reports

SPRING LAKE, N.J. (April 22, 2003) - 19th Hole Products, LLC - developer of Proderma Sun & Skin-Care Products - the full range of protective and restorative products formulated specifically for golfers - has announced it has produced two new sun-safety brochures in conjunction with The Skin Cancer Foundation.

New York City-based, The Skin Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing skin cancer. All Proderma SPF products carry The Skin Cancer Foundation's Seal of Recommendation for safety and effectiveness, the only skin-care products in golf with this distinction.

"There's great misunderstanding by golfers about how to correctly use sunscreen and other skin-protection products," says Proderma President Mike Argyelan. "Our mission - to provide affordable, safe skin-care products in an industry needing them - has failed if we don't alert golfers to the life-and-death stakes involved. Fortunately, The Skin Cancer Foundation exists to help support our mission."

"An ounce of prevention, a lifetime of play" is an informational brochure created by Proderma to answer common questions about skin cancer and sunscreen use, including how skin cancer is caused, how to recognize the signs, and how to prevent it. The brochure is sent with all Proderma products and provided to retailers as part of every display order.

"Simple Steps to Sun Safety" is the official Skin Cancer Foundation brochure. It contains guidelines for enjoying the outdoors while keeping exposure to the sun at a minimum. It also contains useful tips on how sun exposure is affected by clouds, latitude and altitude. For instance, ultraviolet radiation increases four to five percent with every 1,000 feet above sea level.

Proderma products promote secure gripping of clubs through their natural, non-greasy ingredients, discourage insects, and provide preventative and therapeutic protection and skin-cell replenishment.

Proderma products - dermatologically tested and shown to be hypoallergenic and noncomodogenic - include SPF 30 Sunscreen, Windscreen, Hand Lotion, SPF 18 Facial Moisturizer, SPF 18 Body Lotion, SPF 30 Lip Balm, SPF 30 Face Stick, Moonscreen, and Burn Gel.

Proderma's exclusive sun and skin care products from 19th Hole Products, LLC, deliver protection from exposure to sun and wind, anytime, anywhere, as well as the everyday effects of aging. All ingredients used in Proderma products were carefully chosen to blend the best of cosmetic, herbal, and scientific knowledge. Nutritive, restorative herbal extracts promote skin conditioning and natural moisturizing. Antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E help to protect skin against the cumulative effects of sun exposure. Allantoin, tree tee oil, and ginseng help speed up and promotes the skin's natural healing process.
